Hello again =)
This week's lesson is an essential learning not just for my entrepreneur career but for my life as well.
Do you usually think about being honest? I know it is weird to think about that, because we obviously think we are totally clean and ethical most of the time. However, I feel that we need to ponder about our standards and how honest we want to be before getting into business (and I mean any kind of business).
The most important step to build a clean and honest life is to set up our standards prior to facing bad opportunities. We need to decide we won’t steal, lie or betray someone even when we don’t think we are capable of such attitude.
Something I strongly believe is that we repeat behaviors in all the aspects of our lives, example: if we are not organized at home, we are mostly like to be unorganized at our job. It works the same way with our standards. Once, I heard a famous entrepreneur from Brazil called Rodrigo Santana saying that he refused to work with a business partner when he knew the guy had cheated on his wife. Rodrigo said: “If he cannot be loyal to the most important person in his life, why would he be loyal to me?”. Those words went straight to my heart. I need to be my greatest in all facets of my life, so people can trust me, and they will see my value.
Another important lesson from this week came from Jim Ritchie. He taught the formula for success that is summarized in six steps which are:
1- Get up early
2- Work hard
3- Get an education
4- Find your oil
5- Make your mark
6-Serve
These 6 steps are simple, but not easy to accomplish, otherwise we would have the world full of millionaires. But I know that if I push myself to follow this formula, I will find joy and I will be able to contribute to tons of people.
I am so grateful that I can learn in this course from successful and faithful people that put the Lord in first and teaches me how to find/ build success.
See you next week.
