So you want to be an entrepreneur?

 Hi Guys,

Thank you for being here with me in this amazing journey. We are in the 6th week of class and this week’s lesson was fabulous.

We studied the article called “So you want to be an entrepreneur?” which gave us the essential steps to become a successful business owner.

I feel that a lot of people think that to be an entrepreneur you don’t have to study because it doesn’t require a degree. We can find tons of successful entrepreneurs that never finished college; however, it doesn’t mean that they didn’t study and prepared themselves to be a great professional.

We learned that to open a business is completely indispensable to master three pillars, what means, study a lot to acquire knowledge in these areas:

Understand the industry

When we understand our industry and market, we will be more sensible to identify good and bad opportunities.

Understand the daily operations of a business

It is important to be willing to learn all the areas of a business, because if you do so, even hiring an expert in determined area, you will be able to differentiate a good from a bad worker.

The ability to raise money

The ability to raise money is not the most important of the three points, however, it is obvious that when you have this skill, you will be able to have more commodity and focus on grow your business.

An entrepreneur’s life is really demanding, there is no clock in and clock out, but instead a 24/7 job. Even when an entrepreneur is not officially working, he/she is thinking about the business, creating network and trying to find solutions to the company and to be more productive.

Besides the business side, and entrepreneur will have to learn to manage time and to take care of others important pillars of life such as Spirituality, Family and Health.

When we put the Lord first and make sure to create time to people and things we love, our productivity and happiness will grow, and amazing opportunities will be available.

That was the highlights of the week for me.

See you guys next week.
