“The hero’s journey is all about you, but it’s not about you at all.”

  Hi Guys,

This week’s lesson was amazing, as always. We learned what truly means to be in a hero journey and that is not easy at all. The speaker began saying that “The hero’s journey is all about you, but it’s not about you at all.” But what does it mean? Well, basically, it is all about your choices, but what matters the most is to focus in helping others and making a difference in the world, and of course, with the guidance of our Heavenly Father. To be more precise, I will quote the author: “So what does it mean to choose a hero’s journey? It means to live every moment of your life like it matters, because it does. It means to live as if you have an important mission, because you do. It means seeing struggles as adventures, and setbacks as lessons (…) what matters most isn’t the prize at the end, but how the hero has changed in the process.”

I will share some of the advices he gave the students and the people looking for a successful entrepreneur career that touched my heart.

He said that we need to find role models and be willing and prepared to ask them the right questions. We need guidance of people who have been where we are right now and succeed in life. Be surrounded about good people is so important in this journey. Not just professors or spiritual mentors but also, good friends with a good character and that have the same values we do. We are the reflection of the people we are surrounded.

He teaches that the key to contribute meaningfully with the world is to never give up on searching for our calling. To find it, we need to understand the gifts God gave us. The day we find it and learn how to use it, we will be on the way of understanding our calling in this world.

And finally, an important thing to be done is to set clear guard rails and not surpass them. We need to make decisions before the situations happen. What kind of person I want to be? What kind of boss or businesswoman am I going to be? What kind of wife daughter, friend, mom? When we know who we want to become, it is easier to understand the decisions we won’t never make.

Thank you for reading my week’s experience.

See you on week 6
